Excerpt from George A. Ide Memoir (p. 5, 9, 10): Thefollowing two obituary notices I copied from grave stones inthe old Seekonk, Massachusets cemetary. "Sacred to thememory of Abel Ide who departed this life March 23, 1850, inthe eighty eighth year of his age. The days of our yearsare three score years and ten, and if by reason of strengththey be four score years yet is their strength, labor andsorrow. " "Sacred to the memory of Mrs. Susan, wife of AbelIde and daughter of Deacon Phinney of Barnstable. Shedeparted this life September 14th, 1854, in the eightyfourth year of her age. The Hoary Head is a crown of gloryif it be found in the way of righteousness. Buried in theold Seekonk burial ground, Their graves are located ashort distance southeast from the old Mausoleum.
